FXRRC Eastern Creek June 16-17th Race Meeting Now On The New 4.5 Kilometre Long Track
Want to be the first motorcycle racers to compete on the new 4.5 kilometre track at Eastern Creek Raceway?
If the answer is yes then here’s your chance as the upcoming Formula Xtreme Road Racing Club (FXRRC) race meeting that is only three weeks away will now take place on the brand new expanded 4.5 kilometre long track instead of the existing 3.93 km track.
This will be the first ever motorcycle race meeting on the new track long track and will be the only race meeting for bikes on it for modern bikes until the series finale of the AFX-SBK championship series on the weekend of 10th-11th November.
These FXRRC race meetings are not rounds of the AFX-SBK series, they are stand alone club level race events that are low key fun race meetings that cater for all grades of competitors, not just A or B graders.
Because the circuit is so much longer and laptimes are unknown we can only go on laptimes based on the recent circuit opening so we have gone back and completely rewritten the schedule, so that it fits into the available daylight limitations one has in June.
Saturday schedule.
All classes will receive 5 x 15 minute scheduled sessions. If all things go smoothly and we have spare time at the end of the day we will run an extra A&B and a extra C&D grade session.
Sunday Qualifying.
All classes will receive 1 x 13 minute qualifying session
Sunday Race Schedule.
The newly revised Sunday schedule will be as follows;
As the new circuit is 4.5 kilometres long there will be a combined single warm up and sighting lap.
1000 cc - A/B & C/D.... 2 x 4 lap races – 1x5 lap race – 1x5 lap(f)*
Formula Xtreme Classic - A/B & C/D (for up to 2003 FX bikes).... 2 x 4 lap races – 1x5 lap race – 1x5 lap(f)*
Pro-Twins / Nakedbike - includes BEARS (All formulas) A/B & C/D.... 2 x 4 lap races – 1x5 lap race – 1x5 lap(f)*
600 cc - A/B & C/D (open all FX600/Superstock & Supersport bikes).... 2 x 4 lap races – 1x5 lap race – 1x5 lap(f)*
600 cc Retro - A/B & C/D (upto 2005 model bikes).... 2 x 4 lap races – 1x5 lap race – 1x5 lap(f)*
Ultra-Lites – A/B & C/D (125gp, 250M, 400 & 650 Twins).... 2 x 4 lap races – 1x5 lap race – 1x5 lap(f)*
Supermono/Motard A/B & C/D.... 2 x 4 lap races – 1x5 lap race – 1x5 lap(f)*

All competitors will be eligible to enter the separate A&B and C&D grade feature races (f)*.

The first race on Sunday will be as per the original schedule a ‘Novice Race’ for riders who are relatively new to racing or have only entered a Race Your Mates meeting. Please contact us to see if you are eligible.
Novice Race - 1 x 4 lap race
What does the above revised schedule mean competitors will get? Each competitor if they also do the Feature race will be eligible for four(4) races on Sunday plus one qualifying session. On Saturday competitors are scheduled to get 5 x 15 minute sessions. Competitors who are new to the sport will also be eligible to take part in a Novice race.
So over the two days competitors will be eligible to receive ten sessions made up of practise session, qualifying and races.
Airfence
We have been asked this previously over the last few weeks, so for everyone’s information we will be erecting the AFX-SBK series airfence at this EC FXRRC round at quite a number of points around the track for both Saturday and Sunday of this event.
Practise Embargo
Please also be aware there is no practise embargo on the FXRRC rounds in the week leading up to the event.

This event will provide a great opportunity to try out the new Dunlop front control tyre that is now available for those who are also competing in the AFX-SBK series.

WORLD champion Casey Stoner admits he is still battling an arm problem despite the impressive win in Portugal which ensured the best season start of his MotoGP career.
The Honda rider - whose maiden win on the Estoril track means he's now had victories at every Grand Prix circuit - triumphed from 2010 world champion Jorge Lorenzo yesterday, claiming a one-point lead over the Spaniard after three rounds.
With two wins and a third placing, he's off to his hottest start to a season since he joined MotoGP in 2006.
The 26-year-old also picked up two wins in the first three races on the way to his first MotoGP title in 2007, but failed to finish on the podium in the other.
The success has come despite being affected by “arm pump”, a condition where the nerves get trapped and numb the hand during races.
“There was a bit of pressure throughout the race,” said Stoner.
“I wasn't feeling good or comfortable and I had a bit of arm pump.
“I was lucky to hold on and win.”
Stoner's team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who became only the seventh rider to celebrate 100 podium finishes as he came third, praised Stoner's ride.
“Casey did a good race, unbelievably strong,” Pedrosa said.
“It's been a really tough race from the beginning, the pace was very, very high from the first lap to the final one.
“To reach my 100th podium is amazing and shows how fast the time goes.”
Lorenzo, winner here twice including his first ever victory at this level, said he had never felt as if he was going to win.
“To be honest I only ever expected to be at best second,” said Lorenzo, who had seen his run of four successive poles ended here on Saturday when he timed fourth fastest in qualifying.
“We had a lot of problems in practice and we were losing time every lap in the straight. Stoner was very strong.”
Pedrosa got the better start but was quickly passed by both Stoner and Lorenzo while Cal Crutchlow lost two spots and Valentino Rossi, gained two places from ninth to seventh.
With 10 laps to go Stoner and Lorenzo looked to have the race to themselves as Pedrosa dropped off slightly and further behind the field was whittled down with just 16 remaining of the original 20 starters.
Stoner repelled everything that Lorenzo threw at him and going into the final lap held a comfortable lead of just over a second and never looked like relinquishing that advantage.
The Australian overtook Lorenzo on the points table which, after three races, now reads Stoner 66, Lorenzo 65, Pedrosa 52 and Cal Crutchlow 37.

The latest TAC public education campaign targets two of Victoria's biggest issues in road safety -- motorcycle safety and speed.
The campaign, titled "Reconstruction", features a slow motion replay of a crash involving a motorcyclist and a car. The ad graphically depicts the rider suffering a broken neck as a result of his speeding prior to the collision.
Victoria Police Major Collision Investigator Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Peter Bellion features in the ad and explains how the crash could be avoided had the rider obeyed the speed limit.

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa will be making his 100th MotoGP start in front of his home Spanish fans at Jerez on Sunday.
Pedrosa arrives for round two of the 2012 season on top form, having finished a close second to Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo in the opening Qatar night race.
Pedrosa was a close third behind team-mate Casey Stoner and Lorenzo during March's Jerez pre-season test and has finished on the Jerez podium every year since joining MotoGP in 2006, including victory in the 2008 event.
“The pre-season test at Jerez was positive for us, we had good feelings on the bike and finished happy, so I'm really looking forward to going there for the Grand Prix this weekend,” said Pedrosa.
“We need to be very focused and have a good qualifying session in order to start the race in a good position. I love the Jerez circuit and the passionate support of the Spanish fans, I hope the grandstands are full again as it adds to the unique atmosphere there.
“We had a great race in Qatar and to start the season on the podium is important, but we cannot relax, we will be aiming for another strong race this weekend".
Pedrosa's 15 MotoGP race wins make him the most successful rider yet to win the title.
