Suzuki maybe back in Motogp very soon

Honda-motogp-rider

After the recent discussions of the rules in Motogp, its has been announced that machines entered in the Motogp class are restricted to using the same bore and stroke dimensions from 2012 till 2014.

All teams are required to notify the technical director asap.

What this means is that teams and brands that are currently not involved with the motogp paddock can build bikes and motors with the assurance that the rules will not change for the next 2 Motogp seasons.

This could mean that teams like Suzuki can prepare a bike for next season without having to worry about rule changes taking effect.

Say tuned as there has been rumours going around that we might even see a Suzuki Motogp bike as soon as the Italian round at Mugello.

Motogp: Cave to pressure and drop rookie rule for 2013

Marc-marquez-moto2-silverstone

Yes it's true, Motogp has dropped the rookie rule after Casey Stoner announcement of retiring.

As reported by the Spanish daily El Pais, Dorna and IRTA have decided that this rule that currently prevents rookies signing up with factory racing teams needed to be scrapped as there is currently not enough satelitte teams to support it.

When this rule was introduced in 2010, at that point there had been enough teams to make this a viable rule. At that point there was 3 satellite ducati seat, 2 yamaha seats and 4 honda seat available.

But probably the main reason for the rule to be changed again was because Honda wanted to sign up Marc Marquez for next season after Casey Stoners retirement. Along with this, the satellite teams themselves have there own sponsor which created more problems. Both satellite honda teams have backing from 2 seperate oil companies, which are not the same sponsor as Marc Marquez currently has, which is of course Repsol.

So for now it looks like Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa will head up the Repsol Honda team for 2013.
